Last Saturday saw a lucky punter pick up the equivalent of 80% of the first prizemoney when Captivate won the Gr I $150,000 NZ Bloodstock Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes at Te Aroha.

Sir Slick (pictured) is proving money in the bank for not only his owners, Barry Brown and Graeme Nicholson. One punter "invested" $20,000 on Sir Slick to win the Gr II Lawnmaster Awapuni Gold Cup and for his outlay at odds of $1.50 he made $10,000.

Sir Slick (pictured with handler Roxanne Rattley) and Prized Punch were good results for many punters last weekend, while another sizeable payout was made by the TAB on fellow Tauranga winner Rosetti Bay. "We had some big bets on Sir Slick with plenty of punters lining their pockets," said Paul Lally, head of the TAB's Fixed Odds betting.
