ImageFilming commenced in Petone last Saturday of a remake of that famous children's movie "How the Grinch stole Christmas".

The tentatively titled remake "How one very astute punter stole Christmas from the bookies" is based on a true story emanating from racing at Te Rapa when a punter placed a winning $13 five-leg multi commencing with Sterling Prince @ $3.20 and going on to Mirkola Lass @ $5.00, Waitui Pride @ $10.00, Sarajay @ $7.50 and finishing on Governor Bois for a return of $249,600. 

San Bernardino also proved a popular winner for one astute punter whose $3000 bet returned him $27,000.

Meanwhile Dorabella and Charliehorse put a tiny smile back on the faces of the bookies when beaten over the weekend.

San Bernardino $3000 @ $9 to return $27,000, Bella Valentina $4000 @ $4.60 to return $18,400, Waitui Pride $1500 @ $10 to return $15,000.

Losers:
Dorabella $20,000 @ $4.00, Charliehorse $5000 @ $2.60 and Loaded Command $3000 @ $8.50
