Late Scratching Gives Punter Huge Return

The lucky punter took Altesino into Katy Keen (St Leger) into Boundless (NZ Oaks) and when the judicial committee decided to declare fifth-placed Altesino a late scratching because her barrier was marginally slow opening the punter lived again.

Despite the big payout, NZ Oaks' Day at Trentham resulted in a points decision to the bookies with the upset win of the Stephen McKee trained Boundless in the Gillies Group NZ Oaks being a good outcome.

Winning results for the punters on Saturday included Altesino's heavily backed stablemates Rhomale and Valpolicella,  as well as Taking The Mickey, impressive Trentham two-year-old winner All In Brawl, Resounding, Fercertain and Jowka. 

On the other side of the ledger good results for the bookies  included Sent To Sea, Tlingit and La Danske at Te Rapa, plus Megapins, Antipodean and O'Cartier at Trentham. 

Winners:
All In Brawl $10,000 @ $4.20 to return $42,000, Katy Keen $3600 @ $5.50 to return $19,800, Rhomale $10,000 @ $2.30 to return $23,000, Valpolicella $5000 @ $3.60 to return $18,000.

Losers:
Thumbs Up $15,000 @ $4.00, Miracle Miss $10,000 @ $18, Kaatoon $10,000 @ $2, Kaatoon $6800 @ $2.50 and Huluava $5000 @ $2.80.
