Monday, 11 February 2008

ImageSeachange, the Queen of the New Zealand turf, carried her legion of supporters through with her dominant win in the Gr I Waikato Draught Sprint at Te Rapa last Saturday much to the delight of punters.

Backed in from a seemingly prohibitive opening quote of $1.30 the mare was supported as if unbeatable and so it proved.

Other good results for the punters on the day included the Stephen McKee-trained pair of Belle Joie and Castlereagh, the Roger James-trained NZ Oaks favourite Kaatoon and No Limits.

The win of the Paul and Mike Moroney trained three-year-old Mission Critical in the Gr I Whakanui Stud International Stakes was a pivotal moment in the day for the bookies with Sir Slick being heavily backed both in singles and multis.

At Awapuni the promising CD gallopers Not Tonite and Manonamission were good results for the punters while the upset win of Del Toro in the Carters Ashhurst-Pohangia Cup proved a good result for the bookies.
