Sir Slick (pictured with handler Roxanne Rattley) and Prized Punch were good results for many punters last weekend, while another sizeable payout was made by the TAB on fellow Tauranga winner Rosetti Bay. "We had some big bets on Sir Slick with plenty of punters lining their pockets," said Paul Lally, head of the TAB's Fixed Odds betting.
"And with the jolly old favourite Prized Punch winning the last at Tauranga there would have been plenty of happy people, too."
The biggest single payout on Sir Slick was a bet of $10,000 at $2.20, while another good payout was $3000 on Rosetti Bay at $11 to return $33,000.
But the TAB bounced back when southern galloper Quantum Dude won the Waverley Gold Cup and the well-supported Hazeldon being beaten in the last event on the Waverley card.
