Friday Settlement Likely On Alamosa

ImageNegotiations to buy top three-year-old Alamosa (pictured) are expected to be completed by Friday.Bill Gleeson, who is negotiating with trainer and part-owner Peter McKay to purchase Alamosa to stand at his Wellfield Stud in Palmerston North, confirmed today with NZ Racing News progress is being made in the deal.

"Everything is progressing well towards a settlement and we should have an announcement on Friday," said Gleeson.

Gleeson has been forming a syndicate to purchase the son of O'Reilly who is a triple Gr I winner.

Alamosa has passed the necessary veterinary examination and McKay has ceased working his stable star.

"His campaign is over for this season," said McKay, who stopped working Alamosa yesterday morning.

"Now we're just waiting for the deal to be completed."
