He's Heroic (Allan Peard) cruising to an impressive win today. Photo: NZ Racing News. That's the opinion of rider Allan Peard, who is also stable foreman for He's Heroic's trainer and owner, Bruce Wallace.
He's Heroic was always travelling like a winner for Peard in the http://www.pencarrowstud.co.nz/ 2100 and got home by a length and a quarter from Sand Hawk. "He had a nice soft trip and won it easily in the end," said Peard. "It's good to see him going so well after the Cornwall. "That Cornwall knocked him a lot. It was just too heavy for him and really he shouldn't have run in it." He's Heroic finished 11th in the Cornwall Handicap, 34 lengths from the winner, Strapped For Cash, then a month later he beat two home at Avondale before bouncing back to form with a win in a Rating 80 at Ruakaka on July 31. "He won quite well at Ruakaka and handled the step up today," said Peard. "He is better on better ground too and he'll be alright in some of the staying races later on." |

More can be expected of He's Heroic, winner of the open staying race at Te Rapa today.
